Fresh Roasted Arabica Coffee Tuesday, Sep 23 2008

All gourmet coffee, all the time!

Congratulations. You have entered the world of gourmet coffee. It is the most satisfying and freshest coffee available. The beans have traveled from the coffee fields to the roaster to your mug as quickly as possible. Whatever gourmet coffee you choose, you can be sure that our master roasters will make sure that the beans are roasted and blended to ensure maximum pleasure. We offer Guatemalan Maragogype Elephant Bean, Saratoga Signature, Kona, Espresso and flavors like Coconut, Blueberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Cinnamon Danish, Hazelnut and Banana. Our decaf is chemical free Swiss Water Process which has no after taste.

Your gourmet coffee will arrive at your door with the insurance that all varieties will have consistent quality, bean after bean. Coffee roasting is as an art. Our roasters know that each coffee bean is unique, possessing a different size, shape, color, and density. Each type of bean demands different roasting temperatures and timing to draw out its full flavor.

We recommend brewing your gourmet coffee in a machine that DOES NOT have a hot plate. Choose a coffee maker that brews directly into a thermal carafe. The coffee stays fresher longer and does not become thick. Reusable filters are also very good. The best filters are gold, nylon, or some other permanent filter material. Permanent filters allow the most flavor molecules from the coffee grinds to make it into the water.

Don’t forget to grind your gourmet coffee beans fresh with every pot you brew. Coffee grinders release the bean oils and aromas at the moment you make your pot of java. It’s like getting a fresh cup from a coffeehouse each and every time you brew.

Enjoy!

Indonesian Coffee and Colombian Coffee Saturday, Sep 20 2008

Indonesia’s Arabica coffees have low acidity and strong body, which makes them ideal for blending with higher acidity coffees from Central America and East Africa. Colombian coffee beans are grown at high altitudes and tended with painstaking care in the shade of banana and rubber trees. Colombian coffee is among the best in the world, rich, full-bodied, and perfectly balanced.

At Saratoga Roasters, we blend both beans to perfection and roast it fresh for you in our Saratoga Signature Coffee.

Guatemalan Maragogype Elephant Bean Coffee Friday, Jun 6 2008

Elephant Bean Coffee

Guatemalan Maragogype Coffee Beans are actually mutations. The trees they grow on produce the world’s largest coffee beans. Hence the name “elephant” beans. They are grown in several countries but I just love the Guatemalan variety. It is a well sought after coffee as the flavor is so smooth. People are also drawn to the “attractiveness” of the bean.

I know it has been a while, but now you all have a wonderful tidbit to share with friends this weekend. As usual, no need to thank me.

Give the Us a Chance Tuesday, Mar 25 2008

Have you ever heard of a defective coffee bean? If you purchase fresh roasted beans from a small batch roaster, like Saratoga Roasters, you will never meet one. Defective beans are generally immature or discolored. Foreign coffee roasters toss the defective beans in with the high quality ones. You guessed it, the end result is a lower quality beverage. Typically, roasters in the US do tend to throw the defectives out producing a high quality cup of java.

So, come on, purchase your beans for the quality and the taste. I am willing to give you a chance to learn just how amazing a premium mug of coffee can brighten your day (I am so nice that way!)

Coffe Reduces Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease Wednesday, Jan 16 2008

New studies suggest that if you drink atleast two cups of coffee a day, you decrease your risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease later in life. So, what are you waiting for?

More Uses for Coffee Beans Sunday, Dec 30 2007

I have found two more uses for coffee beans. Both can come in quite handy:

*Use a coffee bean to freshen your breath. When you cannot find a mint, simply suck on a coffee bean. Your breath will be fresh and clean in minutes.

*Deodorize your hands. Keep some beans by the kitchen sink. When you want to get rid of an odor on your hands, just rub a couple of beans between them. The beans will absorb the odor.

Have fun with this and enjoy!

Coffee Tidbit Sunday, Dec 9 2007

Here we go again. I came across an interesting fact that supports my customers purchasing my fresh roasted beans and making their own java. People who buy coffee primarily at drive through windows on their way to work will spend as many as 45 hours a year waiting in line.

No way! Who has the time? I know you don’t!

Thanks for being loyal and time efficient.
